This report examines water law and policy internationally in preparing for future uncertainty in water resources. This report investigates how international jurisdictions were addressing water challenges similar to those in New South Wales (NSW) and Australia. The report discusses the findings thematically. Part 1 examines climate change and drought preparedness in water law frameworks. Part 2 explores water markets, privatisation and private property rights to water, and the challenge of water equity. Part 3 discusses indigenous rights and access to water. Finally, part 4 identifies opportunities relating to water efficiency and conservation, water literacy and education, and the politics of water.
